Zhang Lihua is a resident scholar at the Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy. She is also a professor at the Department of International Relations at Tsinghua University.

Zhang Lihua is a resident scholar at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy where her program at the center examines how China’s core values affect Chinese foreign policies.  Zhang is also the director of European Studies Center at the Institute of International Studies at Tsinghua University.  

Her other research interests include political theory, European politics, and contemporary Chinese politics and diplomacy. With a long history of teaching and doing research at Tsinghua, Zhang has published more than 50 academic articles and seven books.

Zhang was a visiting scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a visiting scholar at Maison des Science de I’Homme, Paris, France.  She also served as a visiting researcher at Seoul National University in South Korea.
